Serving in Madagascar
Mary and Martin first went to Madagascar in 1984 for 2 years. On return they moved to Sussex and started worshipping at Life Community Church, Storrington, later part of the Church plant to Arundel. In 1994 they returned to Madagascar with their children, Ben and Becky. They worked helping different missionaries with building projects, and then were invited by Scripture Union Madagascar (FMMB) to build a camp centre at Lake Mantasoa, while also doing training courses around Madagascar.
Some time was spent in the UK, which included Mary in the SPLASH team, and leading a team to work in Latvia.
After 17 years at the Mantasoa Camp Centre, God showed them another site, now called Kanana, where much of the work has involved Community Development (Association BOO Madagascar). This led into building a Pre-school, Primary School and now a Lower Secondary School and Vocational Training Programme, with 280 students all together in 2020. They have a holistic approach, caring for whole families, with many needs, in body, mind and spirit: Health, Education, Bible Study etc. God has opened so many doors and made so many miracles. The whole site is run by faith.
They also run 3 guest houses, a community shop, a craft workshop and welcome teams and volunteers as well as providing employment for about 50 people.
